CPA India was established in 1984 and registered in 1987 under the Societies Registration Act 1860. It is a leading National level, Non-Government, and Non-Profit Organization. It aims at connecting Indian and NRI consumers locally and globally.

CPA INDIA was invited in 1985 by the Govt of India to participate in the discussions before finalizing the Consumer Protection Bill 1986. This Association has represented consumer interests in the Central Consumer Protection Council, Bureau of Indian Standards and many other bodies. It has established some consumer organizations including Women Consumer Organization , and Consumer Institute. Representatives of CPA India have been invited to many National & International Programmes including International visits.

 

CPA INDIA works in close co-operation with civil society and Government and received National Award for works in the interest of consumers.

Shri Nripendra Misra, Chairman of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) delivered the key-note address in the National Seminar on Quality of service of Basic and Cellular Mobile Telephone Services & Role of TRAI which was organised by CPA India on 16 th September, 2006.

 

NATIONAL CONSUMER CONVENTION-2007 ON NOVEMBER 29-30, IN NEW DELHI

CPA India has organised a Two-day NATIONAL CONSUMER CONVENTION- 2007 on November 29-30 in New Delhi in co-operation with a Group of Indian Consumers Organisations.

 

Theme of the National Consumer Convention was CONSUMER JUSTICE & GOOD GOVERNANCE.
