Consumers’ Protection Association (CPA) was established in 1984 and registered in 1987 under the Societies Registration Act 1860. CPA was invited in 1985 by the Govt of India to participate in the discussions before finalizing the Consumer Protection Bill 1986. Formerly member of CCPC, BIS, CPA India was also a member of CAG registered with TRAI and an Investors Association recognized by SEBI. CPA INDIA works in close co-operation with civil society and Government and received National Award for works in the interest of consumers.    Guests to CPA India’s past programmes are: Central Ministers, Chief Ministers, Vice-Chancellor, Law makers, representatives from MRTP Commission, National Consumer Court (NCDRC), Bureau of India Standards, Consumer Organizations & Activists from many states, Chairman of TRAI, Chairman of SEBI.

CPA India has organized National Seminar on Quality of telephone services and role of TRAI, Two-day National Consumer Convention on Consumer Justice- 2007 in New Delhi. it organized National Seminar on Telecom Services and National Seminar of Investors Services. President of this organization was elected Chairman of the CCC-Consumer Coordination Council India, apex consumer body of leading consumer organizations in India. He was member of the Govt of India Task Force on UN Revisesd Guidelines on Consumer Protection. We give legal guidance to consumers advice to Government.

Consumers’ Protection Association, in cooperation with Consumer Coordination Council and some leading consumer organisations of India, has  organised  the  National Consumer Convention-2021 on 19th  December 2021 at Gandhi Peace Foundation, New Delhi. Theme of the National Consumer Convention-2021 was SOCIAL JUSTICE AND CONSUMER EMPOWERMENT.
